Karl Lagerfeld- Sheer Shoulders

Wow! That model looks like she's going to cut someone.
I like this dress. I won't go so far as saying I love it, although it is on the REALLY high side of like. Everything happening above the waist is a really interesting look. The sheer shoulders give off a certain sexiness, and the neckline is interesting. I don't know that it was wise to put that much heavy fabric right next to her neck, and then soften it at the shoulders, but I will definitely give points for innovation.
Karl Lagerfeld- Ruffled Sleeves

I hereby declare that only Diane Von Furstenberg is allowed to do a shirtdress from now on. She's the only one that can seem to get it right.
Shirtdresses such as this are very institutional looking, since they have no shape to the waist. They are boxy, and look like they could be hiding a sleeping bag zipper underneath the flap. The sleeves are pretty, and it helps with trying to make this look normal, but it's just not going to happen. Even the color is working against it.

Karl Lagerfeld- Grey Textures

This dress isn't my favorite, but I really like the textures and layering within it. At the top, you have an opaque tank with beading. It's not exactly heavy, but it does have quite a bit of work on it. Below that, there is some sheer fabric which has been layered in such a way so that it's not sheer anymore. And directly below that is a single layer of sheer fabric which is transparent enough to show the hosiery underneath, but opaque enough to be the exact same color as above. Very interesting work!
Karl Lagerfeld- Grey Pants

These grey pants are really fantastic. They have a very nice, tailored look to them, but the cuffs at the bottom also give it a bit of funkiness and fun. I'm less fond of the jacket. First, brown and grey are nasty together. Second, look at how thin those pants are. Obviously it's the skinny pants look, but the jacket makes it look bulky and weighed down because the shoulders and sleeves are so broad.
Finally, I think this is one of the last pairs of skinny pants you will see for a while. It's almost time for the new fashion season, and these are definitely on their way out. I would be quite surprised if any designers showed skinny pants on the runway.
