Medicine Cabinets- Ledge

This medicine cabinet looks pretty, but I'll admit, it's rather difficult to see in this grainy photo. There are not many details provided, but there are a few things I can pick out from the photo. First, the ledge at the top will constantly plague you by collecting dust. Second, it does not appear to open, making it almost worthless for storing medicines. Third, there is a ledge at the bottom. This is great for holding cups, such as in the photo, but the dust is going to be a bother and you're constantly going to bump into the glass when putting something on it. Furthermore, you're probably not going to display your medicines on that ledge, so it's still not very useful.

Medicine Cabinets- Oak with Solid Door

Although it would not work in my home, I rather like this oak medicine cabinet. This has a unique style that can help tie in the cabinetry in other rooms. Not only is there a mirror, but they had the good sense to decide that not every part of the medicine cabinet must be covered by a mirror, and put in a small wooden door on the side. Again, it's not my style, but I really appreciate that they tried to do something different.
Medicine Cabinets- Starlet

This medicine cabinet with a mirror is not my favorite. As far as medicine cabinets go, it's rather plain, and the bar of exposed light bulbs at the top is rather ugly in my opinion. I just think that of all the medicine cabinets available, you can find something that better expresses your home's style than this.

Medicine Cabinets- Simple Frosted Medicine Cabinet

This is a medicine cabinet in the truest sense of the phrase. There is no mirror here, only a medicine dispensing cabinet that hangs on your wall and looks like something you would see in a doctor's office.
I have to admit that I truly love this one, and I think it's exceptionally beautiful. It's not the most practical since it does not have a mirror, but the look is simple and clean without trying to make one piece function in a multitude of different ways.
Medicine Cabinets- Tri-View Mirror Cabinet

This Tri-view medicine cabinet is fantastic as a mirror. You can turn the panels any which way to see your face, and get a better idea of how you look. But it comes at the cost of beauty. This is just not a stylish medicine cabinet.
Sure, it could be a lot worse, but it just seems to be lacking in any style whatsoever. Many medicine cabinets are, but that doesn't mean you have to repeat the problem.

Medicine Cabinets- Custom Medicine Cabinet

Okay, I'm about to make a bold statement. There are not many items that I say this about, but this is effin' ugly, and it won't work in any home. If this is in your home, then for the sake of all things holy, it's time to update. Quickly!
I originally thought this was a half octagon, but the description called it ten sided. I suppose it is. My snarky side thinks that they can't even manage to do an octagon right! lol Considering there is no storage behind the mirror, you have no place to hide the cream for that rash that's been troubling you (and if you have this mirror, I would bet cold, hard cash that you've got a rash that's troubling you).
So scary.
Medicine Cabinets- Shabby Chic
See, and you thought you'd go forever without having to hear that awful term, "shabby chic", on my blog. So did I. lol

Despite hating the term (and a lot of the style), there's no denying that this medicine cabinet falls firmly into that category. It's part French countryside and part flea market find.
This is cute, but when you start breaking down the elements, it's not as special. The shelves to the side won't hold medicine, because you don't want your visitors knowing that you've got some weird foot fungus. So the side shelves are relegated to holding candles and knick-knacks. Do we really need to display knick-knacks in the bathroom??? The mirror is small, and as Mary Poppins said, I prefer to see my entire face at one time. And after you take away all of that, you're left with a rather plain, if small, medicine cabinet.
